Opening Reception Night Friday July 18 2008 7.30pm
A rainbow land never understood, after two weeks spent we feel we could. Walking until the very last hour, every part of Japan was there to be discovered. A sunshine home away from a home, in a land that is sadly not our own. 100 Yen shops and late night escapades, odd use of english on signs our eyes laid. Minute long train rides and much longer bus ones, falling asleep just to be awoken by a loud one. Toilet bowls with a life of their own, with their purposes much unknown. Now we're waiting in queues that stretches for miles, Sayonara Japan - don’t happy keep smile!
A photography exhibition by 24 young budding photographers on a trip to Japan, konnichiWHOA! will wow you with 24 takes of the extraordinary country. Shot with ranging mediums in locations from Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto to Mt Fuji, the 2-week exhibition plan to reveal Japan through hopeful and credulous eyes. Expect to be left refreshed, amazed and walking out saying "konnichiWHOA!"
Lead and Curated by Chow Chee Yong of 30th February Fame
